vjoon Content Activator

vjoon Content Activator is a plug-in for Adobe InDesign that allows you to activate the content of any secured frames contained in a layout. Whenever Adobe InDesign files are extracted from any kind of workflow system, e. g. exporting them from vjoon K4 using K4 Admin, the frames are secured and cannot be edited. In case, you want external employees or service providers to edit these exported layouts, they can use this plug-in to activate any content for editing.

System Requirements

vjoon Content Activator can be used with Adobe InDesign and has the same system requirements that apply to the following software versions:

  • Adobe InDesign CS5
  • Adobe InDesign CS4

Installation

It is not possible to use K4 plug-ins and vjoon Content Activator on the same computer. In this case, vjoon Content Activator is disabled.

  • Copy the vjoon Content Activator plug-in into the folder “Applications/Programme (may differ according to the language of the operating system you are using) > Adobe InDesign > Plug-ins” on your computer.


  • Start Adobe InDesign. In case it is still running, restart the application in order to enable the new plug-in. vjoonContent Activator is now installed on your computer and ready to use.

Using vjoon Content Activator

vjoon Content Activator allows you to activate content in layouts that have been exported from any workflow system. By default, any content in frames is secured and cannot be edited. Using this plug-in, you can change this setting simply by opening the exported layout with your Adobe InDesign application and applying the Content Activator command to the layout.

Please keep in mind, that it is not possible to use K4 plug-ins and vjoon Content Activator on the same computer. In this case, vjoon Content Activator is disabled. This plug-in is available in English, only.

  • Open any layout file that has been exported from a K4 database using Adobe InDesign.
  • Select the command “Adobe InDesign > Layout > Activate Content”.

All frames within the layout are now unlocked, and you can start editing their content.
