Newspaper DIE ZEIT selects K4 – 100 K4 Publishing Systems Sold
November 3, 2005
At IfraExpo 2005, visitors on the SoftCare stand were witness to another K4 success story: Publisher ZEIT-Verlag Gerd Bucerius GmbH & Co. KG selected K4 Publishing System for DIE ZEIT, a prestigious German newspaper. Right on the show floor, they signed a letter of intent with K4 Integrator SNAP covering a 150 seat system.
"There are several reasons why we chose K4, said Frank Rödel, CFO for DIE ZEIT. "It is a modern database-based system in use at many publications in the region, which was important for us – we need to know we will have a stable production. Also, the fact that it uses InDesign suits us, as DIE ZEIT is produced more like a magazine than a newspaper – K4 gives us sophisticated layout-driven design capabilities. Also, we needed a system which would allow us to produce several publications simultaneously, which K4 does well.
The following day, SoftCare celebrated the sale of the 100th K4 Publishing System. The system goes to Medianovis in Switzerland, who will use the system for corporate publishing in cooperation with Swiss TV. Installation and support services will be provided by experienced K4 System Integrator Topix AG.
