First K4 Summit in the Americas

November 18, 2005

After the successful first International K4 User Conference held in Hamburg, Germany, in June 2005, the first K4 Summit and User Group Conference took place in New York in early November at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The event, designed specifically for the K4 Publishing System user society in the Americas, was a success, attracting over 100 attendees made up of users, administrators, and integrators representing more than 40 companies, including major book, magazine and newspaper publishers across the country.

Throughout the day, attendees listened to and participated in panel discussions and presentations on topics like XML, K4 in multi-vendor environments, scaling K4 to manage growth and workflow complexity, and the future of the K4 Publishing System, including the upcoming version 5.6.

"In addition to learning about upcoming features and updates that we can realistically expect to see within the near future, I had one of the most positive experiences at a user/product conference to date. The excitement from fellow users and product collaborators -- not to mention the solid performance of our system(s) to date -- reassures us that our publishing system will continue to improve and add more opportunities for us to increase efficiency and output, said Jeffrey Vargas, Technology director for Time Out New York and guest panelist at the event.
